While I still prefer a real book, I’ve found that nothing beats loading up my iPhone or iPod with books when I travel ... or just sit in the carpool lane.
The Public Libraries of Jefferson County just announced that their e-Book collections are now compatible with the world’s bestselling e-Book reader, the Amazon® Kindle. Patrons can now download popular and classic e-Books to a Kindle device or any mobile device running the free Kindle app such as iPhone®, iPad®, Android™ and more.
There are currently more than 6,000 titles available for downloading. You can get started by going to www.jclc.org and clicking on the “download audiobooks ebooks” icon.
Kindle users can browse the county-wide collection of bestselling and classic e-Books from a PC or Mac computer, check out titles using a library card, and select “Get for Kindle” to deliver e-Books to their Kindle device or any device running the free Kindle app.
The Public Libraries of Jefferson County also offer e-Books and audio books for use on a PC or Mac computer as well as popular mobile devices such as the Smartphone, MP3 player, and e-Book readers like the Barnes & Noble® Nook™ and Sony® Reader.
